Information we collect
The information we collect depends on whether you are making an enquiry, becoming a client, acting for a client or otherwise dealing with us. It may include:
- your name, contact details, organisation and role;
- details of the service, issue, transaction or deadline you ask us to consider;
- identity and verification information required for client acceptance and anti-money-laundering checks;
- financial, accounting, payroll, tax, employment and business information needed for an engagement;
- information about directors, employees, shareholders, beneficial owners or connected parties where relevant;
- communications, proposals, engagement records, invoices, complaints and service history; and
- limited technical and security data created by website hosting, email and information-security systems.
Information marked as required on the enquiry form is needed so that we can assess and respond to your request. You are not obliged to provide it, but we may be unable to respond meaningfully or consider an engagement without it.
How and why we use information
We use personal information only where we have a lawful basis under UK data protection law.
Where special-category or criminal-offence information is genuinely required, we identify an additional legal condition and apply proportionate safeguards.
Where information comes from
We normally receive information from you, your organisation or an authorised representative. Where necessary for an engagement, we may also receive information from HMRC, Companies House, employers, banks, previous advisers, professional or regulatory bodies, identity-verification providers and lawful public sources.
International transfers
Some technology providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where this happens, we use an applicable UK adequacy regulation or approved contractual safeguard and carry out any assessment required by law. Further information about relevant safeguards can be requested from us.
How long we keep information
We retain information only for as long as needed for the purpose collected and to meet legal, tax, regulatory, insurance and professional requirements.
How we protect information
We use proportionate technical and organisational measures intended to protect information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or disclosure. These include access controls, secure business systems, device and account protection, appropriate provider due diligence, confidentiality obligations and controlled deletion. No internet transmission is completely risk-free, so please do not send highly sensitive records through the initial website enquiry form.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to ask for access to your information, correction, deletion, restriction or portability. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing. Some rights are subject to legal and professional exemptions.
Your right to object: You may object to processing based on legitimate interests and you have an absolute right to object to direct marketing. We will stop processing unless we have a lawful reason to continue that overrides the objection or the information is needed for legal claims.
We do not use website-enquiry information to make decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
To exercise a right, email info@strategiv.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
Questions and complaints
Please contact us first so we can try to resolve your concern. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK data protection regulator, through its official complaints service or by telephone on 0303 123 1113.
We may update this notice when our services, systems or legal obligations change. The current version will always be published on this page.
